Assessment: NFAC

After observing the “all military veteran, expert shooter” NFAC Militia operating in Louisville today, I realized that I had made a mistake in my earlier assessment.  I am perfectly willing to admit when I am wrong.

Previously, I reported their name as the “Not F***ing Around Coalition”, but clearly I got it wrong.  What I saw today was clearly the “Not Frightening, Actually Clowns” Militia.  In my defense, I took them at their word originally.

Now, I know that’s not a fair assessment.  I apologize to clowns for wrongly comparing them to the NFAC.

In all seriousness though, they arrived ready for an armed confrontation, and they got one almost immediately, ending up with three casualties.  Unfortunately, it was one of their “military veteran expert shooters” who accidentally discharged his own weapon, shooting himself and two others.  In their defense, that takes SKILL.

Remember my article about first aid kits?  In it I stated that you need a fully stocked first aid kit, and that you’d use it more than any other piece of gear.  Since they began shouting for medics almost immediately, I can guarantee you that they didn’t have any.  In watching GrandMaster Jay’s videos all week, he mentioned all sorts of gear to bring, firearms, ammunition, body armor, but he never mentioned first aid kits.  You know why?  Because he’s a FRAUD and a con man.

After getting past the initial hiccup of having one of their men shoot himself and two others, they began their march, and it was telling.  

The group, since they obviously don’t actually ever train, let alone train together, was unable to maintain formation for more than a block.  Now, in the scheme of fighting a street conflict, it doesn’t seem that important.  Believe me…It is.  Military units train to march to build unit cohesion, pride, and discipline.  The inability to maintain formation indicates a lack of discipline, therefore GrandMaster Jay may not be able to restrain his troops if rounds were incoming.  

He did seem to put some of his best people on point, and at corners and halts the front 20 or so immediately faced outboard and took a knee, scanning all levels.  I was surprised to see one spot someone on a rooftop as most untrained people never look up,  However, beyond the first 20 people, the rest either just stood or knelt facing forward.  From a tactical perspective, that’s how your unit gets wiped out in an ambush.  Everyone on the outside of the formation should face outboard on a knee, scanning their sector.

Most of the members in the body of the formation had difficulty getting into kneeling position, and I saw several get up by placing the muzzle of their long guns on the ground and pushing off with the gun muzzle, which is beyond ridiculous.

Let’s address weapons.  There was an eclectic bunch, which is also indicative of a lack of standards and discipline.  In any organization, commonality of weapons and ammunition is an asset.  It’s apparent that GrandMaster Jay was just going for numbers to further his con.

As far as weapon carriage, I saw several people, as the day wore on, carrying their long gun in one hand with the muzzle pointing behind them…directly at the people behind them.  You’d think just a couple of hours after a negligent discharge, they’d have learned about firearms safety, but these guys just don’t care about discipline.  

Here’s a photo of an NFAC member taken in their hotel before joining the march.  Smoking a blunt, while holding a firearm.  That violates federal law, by the way.  And it’s a very practical defensive firearm, as you can see.

Here’s a photo of a guy who can’t decide if he’s going to overthrow the white supremacist government, or go duck hunting.  Why does he need binoculars when armed with a shotgun with a smoothbore hunting barrel?  Because he has no idea what he’s doing.  At least his trigger finger is straight alongside the….slide 3 feet from where it belongs.  If an ambush happened right now, the only thing he’s doing with that gun is dropping it. Note…the slide is to the rear, meaning the gun is NOT in battery.

Here we see Uncle Phil, again, just after a negligent discharge wounding three people, with his finger apparently holding the trigger down.  Fortunately, as you can see, the weapon is neither charged nor in battery, which is the only thing saving Phil from losing toes.

So, what does this mean for a risk assessment?  Rather than writing them off as a bunch of LARPers, it actually raises the threat level.  

The reason I say that is because these people believe highly in the black supremacist message of GrandMaster Jay.  They believe that they should be allowed to seize territory by force and resolve disputes with the police by intimidation and violence.  Untrained people with access to weapons, a demagogue leader, and cult-like belief in a cause is exactly how Al-Qaeda began.  And ISIS.  And Ansar Al-Sharia.

An untrained mob has a very high risk of over-reacting to a threat, and is virtually impossible to restrain once they start shooting and panicking.

The risk is high that when they return in four weeks, as Grand Master Jay vowed, there will be violence.  They stated that if they don’t get what they want, which is the arrest of the police officers involved in the Breonna Taylor case, they will burn the city to the ground.  Take them at their word.  They mean it.

It doesn’t take much imagination to figure out what will happen if it is announced that there will be no charges filed.

Let’s address GrandMaster Jay’s speech.  In it, he implied that he was given a lot of insider knowledge about the investigation that the Attorney General would never have released to someone as uninvolved in the case as GM Jay.  Am I calling him a liar?  ABSOLUTELY.

If you wonder if he’s a fraud or not, compare his current videos with his campaign videos from 2016, and listen to how he speaks.  Look at his Facebook page full of photoshopped pictures.

During his speech, he claimed without presenting any details that he has recently survived an assassination attempt, saying “they tried to kill me once”.  He then asked the crowd if they were going to let him be killed by “them”, and he whipped the crowd into a frenzy.  He never specified who “they” were, but you can bet they were white.  

He also repeated his bizarre claim that the KKK had threatened to start killing black people in Stone Mountain on July 4th.  He provided no details at all.

GM Jay said that the Attorney General’s office told him they needed 4 months to complete their investigation, but that he only gave them 4 weeks before he would return for answers, or they would “burn this b#tch to the ground”.  I’m sure that the AG most likely told him they’d have it resolved in 3 weeks, so that GM Jay can make a speech in 4 weeks proclaiming that his threat of violence got them fast results.  The man is a fraud.

What will happen in 4 weeks?  I can’t say.  But I can tell you that GM Jay and his organization…no, calling it that is an injustice to organizations…his group will be back, so prepare accordingly.
