Different Rule of Law

A little while ago, I met with a guy for the first time. Before meeting him, I arrived early and conducted a counter-surveillance sweep, as I often do, to make sure that ANTIFA isn’t setting me up. While I watched the area, I saw another vehicle make the same sweep I did, and I can only assume it was with the folks I was going to meet. After the meeting, I ran a surveillance detection route before heading home.

What was being discussed that both parties took such steps? Well, we talked about our families, my books, the current political environment, our Constitutional rights, and how best to defend our own properties against looters. Then why take such steps, you ask? Because in the current environment, such a conversation labels us as potentially violent extremists, despite not talking about anything illegal.

Contrast that with some other meetings. Some groups are holding open recruitment events where they discuss the violent overthrow of the government, burning down federal buildings, and killing those who disagree with them. Does that get them labeled as potentially violent extremists? No, they are peaceful protestors defending against fascism.

We spend a lot time talking about a Without Rule of Situation and how we will conduct ourselves, but we currently find ourselves in a “Different Rule of Law” situation. That refers to a time when society is mostly functioning, by the enforcement of laws and treatment of groups is vastly disproportional.

For example, in Portland, groups spent nearly 200 days trying to burn down an *OCCUPIED* federal building. Very few arrests were made, and those that were arrested were released immediately with no charges filed. In Washington DC, for contrast, the Capitol Police opened doors and people walked in. Every person who simply walked into that building has been or will be arrested. They are being denied bond and held in solitary confinement. There are allegations of mistreatment by the guards. And just 2 days ago, US Representatives were denied access to view the conditions they are being held under.

Different Rule of Law.

Across the country, we are seeing situations in which protestors and rioters assault and harass people, yet when anyone resists, THEY are arrested. We saw this at the Wi Spa just a couple of weeks ago.

Whenever I point this out, people say “But they didn’t charge the guy, they just arrested him”. Yes, that’s EXACTLY the problem. You are still getting arrested for LAWFUL self-defense. And the other side is not getting arrested for UNLAWFUL assaults. Different Rule of Law.

But what does that mean for us? A lot.

We are learning that doing nothing illegal is no longer a bar to arrest or to be being branded as a violent extremist. The word “Patriot” has officially been labeled as extreme.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

Isaiah 5:20

The first thing we can do is to acknowledge the situation as it is, rather than as we want it to be. We want to believe that lawful self-defense will be honored by the courts and prosecutors, but that’s just not true. We want to believe that Justice always wins, but that’s just not true anymore. That’s step one.

Step two is that once we’ve acknowledged that, we have to make a decision as to whether we will still defend ourselves and how. Make that decision today, understanding the new consequences. The law is no longer on your side.

Apply the new rules whenever you are out. Yes, I still protect journalists out among the protestors, but I have changed my entire defensive approach. I made that change the day that an ANTIFA person committed a felony assault on me directly in front of a Michigan State Police Trooper and the Trooper refused to take action. You need to adjust your approach.

It might seem like wisdom to just lay low and stop being vocal. You can’t be labeled an extremist if you stop standing up for your rights, right? That’s what they are counting on you doing. By labeling patriots as extremists, they are hoping you shut up about the things they are trying to do, so that they can carry on with their plans. It’s the oldest play in the book. They want to silence you. Let me give you a piece of Tactical Wisdom about that:

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 12:21

In other words, don’t be afraid of the label. Don’t say outlandish things, but speak out in defense of the Constitution and your rights. If you don’t, they’ll take them away.

The last thing we can do ties directly back to the first…Once we accept the situation for what it is, rather than hoping for some magic “back to normal” button, we should PREPARE. If the powers that be continue on this path, it will only get worse and conflict will result.

By the way, by staying under the radar and staying complaint, you aren’t keeping the inevitable violence from happening; you’re actually speeding up the process. Compliant people will get sent to the camps first.

Be smart, be aware, be vocal, but most of all, be READY.
