The Gray Zone

My friend Mike Shelby over at Forward Observer (find them at: forwardobserver.com) talks a lot about Gray Zone Conflict. The Gray Zone is that space between peace and war that we used to refer to as a “Cold War”. Gray Zone is a much more fitting name, because in many aspects, Gray Zone Conflict can be quite hot. Attempting to burn down an occupied federal building for 100 nights straight, for example, is not exactly “Cold War”, is it?

America finds herself in a Gray Zone civil conflict now, with at least three sides. On one side is the United States Government, which like all governments, wants mostly to protect itself and it’s budget. On another side are the Marxist Revolutionaries. Oh, you’ve never heard of them? That’s because they are hiding behind clever names like Black Lives Matter and Anti-Fascist Action. Make no mistake, both call for a violent Marxist Revolution to overthrow the United States (I’ve heard them say it myself). On the third side are American Conservatives fed up with the disregard for the US Constitution.

Notice I didn’t call them the “right” because most are actually CENTRISTS. That’s right; they’re not the far right the MSM keeps telling you they are. I keep encountering former both right- and left-wing people in this third group. The far right has it’s own issues and is honestly not more than a fringe party in this.

Yesterday, the Department of Homeland Security issued a National Threat Advisory System bulletin. In it, they reported an increase in the domestic terror threat. They introduced a new term “MDM” or “mis, dis, or mal-information”. Boy, this encompasses a lot. It’s so broad as to be undefinable, and that’s intentional. They mentioned specifically conspiracy theories and misleading narratives. They say that this is the biggest threat, because it decreases faith in the United States Government.

I would like to point out that the United States was conceived and founded by men who DEMANDED that you not put blind faith in the government, but I digress.

The bulletin goes on to specifically call out misleading information related to the 2020 election and COVID-19 control measures and makes the claim that this problem led to several domestic terror attacks in 2021. I, personally, wasn’t aware that the Waukesha vehicle attack was related to election fraud, but what do I know?

Here’s the danger: calling free speech about COVID 19 measures and the potential for election fraud “incitement to terrorism”, which this bulletin does, violates the United States Constitution. If someone feels that COVID 19 measures are not effective, they should be allowed to say so. Same with election fraud. Review that piece of Tactical Wisdom above that Isaiah laid on us. This bulletin is an oppressive decree as it asks people to report anyone “spreading MDM”.

Yeah, but what does that have to do with us, training for preparedness? EVERYTHING.

This man, Christopher Arthur, runs Tackleberry Solutions. They are a training company in North Carolina that will train you to defend your home in the event of a WROL situation. They offer classes in home defense, protection dogs, and “engineering”. He was arrested today and charged with providing training manuals that could be used to booby trap your home with bombs in case the FBI or police raid you.

While that seems logical on it’s face, I wrote a book on how to defend your home from looters (but I didn’t include bombs). What’s the difference? Admittedly, I haven’t seen all the evidence, but again this smacks of entrapment. There are instructors and classes like this all over the US.

Interestingly, books on how to build bombs, like the Anarchist Cookbook, have been around for decades and have traditionally been protected by the Supreme Court under the First Amendment.

I don’t tell you this because I think this guy is a stellar character, I’ve literally never heard of him. I tell you this because it’s yet another sign of our downward spiral and our setting aside of the US Constitution to push a narrative about domestic threats.

On the flip side, outside the home of the Minneapolis Mayor over the weekend, a Black Lives Matter protestor called for open warfare, bombings, arson, and looting. He said that the only reason Chauvin was in prison was because they burned down a police station. He urged people to not merely protest, but “go to war”. He told them to not march but to burn and bomb buildings and loot, and to “abolish” police. That person has not been arrested, because it was “free speech”.

We must remember that we ARE in a period of Gray Zone conflict and that we cannot rely on Constitutional protections anymore. Just today, a congressman reported that his staff came across three US Capitol Police Intelligence Section going through their office disguised as a construction crew. I get it, some people said it happened back in November, but that doesn’t change the facts of the case.

I urge you to be careful. It’s very easy to get caught up in the moment and say something, especially online, that could quickly be turned into something else. Guard your tongue, mostly.

Be careful when sharing details of training classes you’ve attended or your overall preparedness plans. We know that one indicator listed by the DHS as a sign of potential domestic extremism is an interest in preparedness. Guard your lips. Everyone loves to post photos in discussions about gear and that is giving others evidence for an affidavit. I know, the Second Amendment is a thing, but I’ve read so many indictments that mention online photos of guns and gear as evidence of “extremism”.

The affidavit against Stewart “Fed” Rhodes lists dozens of lawful firearms, ammunition, and gear purchases as evidence that he was going to overthrow the government. Be careful what you share.

Understand that there is a concerted to effort to paint anyone who does not 100% support the current administration or COVID 19 rules forever as a terrorist and therefore remove more and more of your rights.

At the same time, other forces are preparing to push for more violent direct action that has the potential to impact your life directly. You need to balance self-defense with the understanding that the laws are no longer on your side.

Confusing, right? Hard to know what to do, isn’t it?

That is Gray Zone Civil Conflict. Protect yourself by protecting your information.

Build a tribe of like-minded people that you know personally. Don’t invite in outsiders whose real motivations you don’t know. If anyone starts talking about taking direct action against specific targets, talks about making bombs or altering weapons, or things like that, cut all ties with them immediately and publicly. There is a reason I publicly nuke Nazi’s on my Twitter feed who try to attach themselves to me. I want the world to know that I DISAVOW and DISAGREE with their worldview. Do the same with these people.
