While the world is currently experiencing supply chain issues, there is a shortage of fertilizer and analysts are predicting serious shortfalls in world agricultural production. At the same time, a series of fires and industrial accidents keep happening in and among our food production and distribution facilities.
Now, every time I post about one, I get informed by everyone that it’s all just a big coincidence and that there isn’t some vast World Economic Forum conspiracy at the heart of it. Hey, I don’t disagree – it COULD be a total and complete coincidence.
BUT THAT DOESN’T MATTER ONE BIT.
That’s right, whether or not they are a coincidence or a deep-state/globalist/lizard people (pick your favorite) plot doesn’t matter one bit to you and me. It is completely IRRELEVANT.
I want to start with a piece of Tactical Wisdom that applies here:
Since they heard the sound of the trumpet but did not heed the warning,
their blood will be on their own head.
If they had heeded the warning, they would have saved themselves.
Ezekiel 33:5

So many people blow these occurrences off because it’s “not a plot”, but there is STILL danger here. Every fire and every plane that crashes into a food processing facility affects that facility’s ability to prepare, produce, or distribute food. Even if a plant is only impacted by 10%, with our “just-in-time” supply chains, it has a significant impact on total food production.
All the fire or crash damage will need to be repaired. They need to be repaired at a time when spare parts and raw materials are scarce. Modern businesses don’t keep spares on hand anymore, so that lengthens the repair timelines. While awaiting repair, that part of the facility is NOT producing product.
So, as you can see, it DOESN’T MATTER why. Just as I always say, prepare for the second and third order effects, rather than arguing about the cause. The cause doesn’t matter…what it means to your life does.
As we approach this summer, nations all over the world are announcing that they aren’t going to export food to any other country. That’s significant because the US doesn’t produce some foods year-round. As an example, while it is winter here, we get fresh vegetables from the Southern Hemisphere, as it is summer there. When that stops, we will have issues.
But what can we do? Well, first buy a few extra cans of vegetables every week, while you can. You can build up a quick stockpile of food this way.

The more permanent answer, once again, comes from the Ultimate Tactical Handbook:
If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the good things of the land.
Isaiah 1:19
What enabled some tribes to live and flourish and some to die in ancient history was the ability to grow and then store food. Over millennia, food was a valid reason to go to war or to raid a neighboring tribe. It’s why tribes banded together and began professional warrior classes, to defend food stores. How did warriors get paid up until the 1500s? In food. A Lord fed his warriors and gave them a place to stay, and they protected him (The future Duke of Montana and I have already struck such a deal).
The Earth is created to provide food to you. People have been gathering or growing their own food for tens of thousands of years. As recently as the 1950s, every family in America grew food (even if it was just in the back yard). The Victory Garden needs to make a comeback and quickly.
Learn to grow food (hint: turn over the soil and bury seeds in it; water and weed). It’s the most self-sufficient thing you can do. As I point out in the Baseline Training Manual, you should focus on food production, rather than food storage. Hunting, trapping, and fishing go right along with this. A great book for this is the Self-Sufficiency Manual (see Amazon affiliate link – I may make a small commission from all the links, but you knew that).

Once you’ve grown food, learn how to can it – but be careful, both Facebook and the DHS think canning is evidence of extremist behavior (yes, really). You can also dehydrate foods (including meats) for long term storage. Remember OPSEC and don’t tell everyone how much food you’re stockpiling.
Know what edible wild foods are near you. Here, wild grapes, blueberries & Huckleberries, black raspberries & blackberries, and delicious mushrooms just grow wild all over. Learn how and where to find them. Nature is abundant.
To recap, it doesn’t matter whether or not there is a grand conspiracy behind the food industry incidents. You need to understand their impact on food supplies and begin taking some action TODAY to reduce the second and third order effects to your life later on.

What is happening with food plants? There has been like 5 plant shutdowns for various reasons. Food is going to be an issue it seems, so get ready. Stockpile some and plant some. I agree that today sure seems like the 1930’s leading up to WW2.

There is a lot of speculation. It’s going to get bad.

Good Logic there, JD, it doesn’t matter if it’s conspiracy or co-incidence, there will be adverse effects on Food Prices and Availability. Grabbing a few extra Cans at the Grocery each time really Works – I have been doing that for a couple of Years, and have two Pallets, three feet High, of Boxes of Cans. Boxes all Dated, and so far the use of oldest first has not hit the Expiration Dates of any.
I would like to know how these numbers of Food Facilities ‘offline’ compares to Total Numbers in the US. It may be that the percentages are Small, although certainly going to have an effect on Prices. What is more ominous is how the Railroads are flat-out Refusing to haul Privately-Owned Cars of Fertilizer and Grain. I Wonder (((who))) owns those companies?

As far as remedial action is concerned, “why” may not matter… but it matters a great deal in understanding threats and from where and how they originate. It also matters a great deal when it comes time to consider justice, crime and punishment for those responsible. And make no mistake – there needs to be a legal reckoning if/when people survive the next few years, so that a calamity like this does not happen again at the hands of the usual suspects some years hence. The wealthy and powerful in the shadows will do what they always do – and try to sacrifice a few underlings to mollify public rage, but don’t fall for that tired old gambit. Turn the small fry to get to the people at the top, the big fish you want to catch. Otherwise, they’ll just regroup and try again in a decade or two.
